M4R 1L2 Our church was founded in 1921 by families dedicated to providing worship and Christian Education for the community. It has undergone many changes over the years, with additions to the building in 1950 and 1961. We are presently undergoing another great change as we leave the building altogether, hopefully to rebuild as a Seniors Residence with a chapel and community space on the main floor. Through all of these different stages in the life of the congregration, the commitment to provide worship and Christian Education for children and adults has remained strong. Members of the congregation value a deep sense of caring for each other, the wider community and the earth. We will continue to grow in our faith while worshipping in temporary accommodation as we await the outcome of our application to redevelop. * Proud of our heritage What's New? Our revised plans for the proposed development were submitted in November 2011 for approval by the City of Toronto. The congregation vacated the premises in September 2011. They engaged Priestley Demolition Inc. to apply for a demolition permit. The permit to demolish the existing building was received by Priestley in late January 2011. Work began in early February and will take 3 to 4 weeks to complete. With safety a top priority, the contractor will build and use a temporary driveway, so that trucks can be loaded on site (not on the street). Boarding (fencing) will be installed and all City by-laws will be followed, including hours of work. Our priority is the safe, efficient removal of all material with minimal disruption to the surrounding area. The site will be left with a safe, flat surface.
